HEADING ON YOUR LINKEDIN PROFILE

Jun 10, 2020

Headline is the most important part of your LinkedIn profile text but how do you get it right?

No, it is not by writing seeking opportunities or #ono up there…

For beginners, headline is the text that appears right under your name on your profile…

It follows you everywhere on LinkedIn – in search results, when you comment, group discussions, articles..

Your default headline is the title and company you are currently working for…
Most people never update their headline..

Even if you are not looking for opportunities, you need to manage your personal brand and reputation…

Your headline is critical to that brand..

So, what should you do?

Firstly, the headline has to be in line with the kind of role you want next… Look at keywords that appear in 5-7 job descriptions and highlight the words that appear multiple times..

If you have any of these skills, they are your keywords…

Now look at 2 easy formats in the pic below and see if you can use either of them…

They are not the only way you can write your headline… Do you use a different format?

How have you used your LinkedIn for personal branding today? Comment below and I will take a quick look at your headline….
